Listening Assistance Devices – Portable Equipment Rental

ATL Events

Departments can rent equipment from ATL Events (the only local vendor that provides rental of these devices). ATL’s system can accommodate up to 15 receivers.

Instructions:
Use delegated purchasing authority and prepare a Purchase Requisition.

Listening Assistance – County Meeting Facilities & Equipment

The County has several meeting rooms that have (or can readily be equipped with) amplification systems to help individuals with hearing impairments in a meeting/class.

Board of Supervisor Chambers

The Board has 4 hand-held amplification wands.

HR Training Division

The HR Training Division has a portable listening assistance system that can accommodate up to 4 receivers that is available for meetings and classes held in the HR Training Center. The equipment is not available for use by other Departments.

HSD Employment & Training Division

The Division has a meeting room that has a built-in loop system that allows an attendee wearing a hearing aid to “tune into” the room’s amplification system in their Challenger Way location. The room is available for use by other Departments. Please note that priority in scheduling will be first given to the Employment and Training Division and then to HSD as a whole.

HSD Employment and Training also has a portable listening assistance device system with 2 receivers. The equipment is available for use by other Department, however priority for use will be first given to the Job Link and Employment and Training Division and then to HSD as a whole. HSD has asked for a minimum of 24 hour advance notice when borrowing the equipment to ensure that it has been charged.

PRMD Hearing Room

The Hearing Room is equipped with a built-in loop system that allows an attendee wearing a hearing aid to “tune into” the room’s amplification system. The Hearing Room can be reserved by other Departments after normal business hours. Please note that several County Commissions have standing reservations for the Hearing Room for their public meetings held during the evening. They also have 1 hand-held amplification wand.
